Prewriting essay 2
People are trying to take the N-word out of the Huckleberry Fin books so they can bring them back to schools, or just start the reader at a younger age. What i really think needs to happen is that schools should not read the book or should wait until the students are mature and ready for the reading. The point of the book is not to use the n-word in a derogatory manner but to use it in the correct context. When the use of the word is used out of context is when there gets to be a problem. I find that if the word is used correctly it should be allowed to remain. Also they talked about replacing the word with "Slave" and i honestly think that is worse because now slave will not even sound right and can completely change how the story is written. My claim is mostly going to stick on the word and talk about how the n-word should be used if it is in the correct context. I will need to find other sources such as historical context or even songs that get changed for the radio. Many people do not like the usage of poor language, but i feel if they do not like the language then they shouldn't be exposed to the language. A lot worse can happen to someone besides negative language.Leave the story the way it was written!
